Book A Virtual Fitness Class

Until our opening times return back to normal (which should be towards the end of June 2021) we will continue running Zoom classes, the classes will be a hybrid as they will actually streamed from a live fitness class in front of people at the centre. 

Recordings will still take place and be e-mailed to you if you have registered for the class on this website. If you want to book a slot to take part in the ‘in person’ class, please click the link in the menu of this site.

How do we see the Virtual Fitness Class?

Our virtual fitness classes will be delivered using Zoom. You may have heard of Zoom as it has been used widely across lockdown. 

Zoom is fairly easy to use and doesn’t require a lot of setting up, it is highly recommend to download and and install the Zoom app for your device, please click the link below to download the app for your device.

All you need to do is book, click your link we send you via e-mail and you’ll have access to the session on the day.

How do I book?

Members and non-members are able to book into the virtual fitness classes.
Members get access to the classes as part of their membership if it is still active, there are no extra fees to pay.
Non-members can join the sessions at a cost of £5 per class.

To book you simply need to click on the scheduled Zoom session below and complete the booking form on the next page. Once your booking form is complete our team will manually verify your details and send you an invite link to the Zoom session.

We need to manually verify your membership details first or ensure payment is made if you are a non-member so there may be a small delay in this coming through to you.

How do I access the recordings?

Each virtual fitness class is now being recorded thanks to feedback from our members.

In order to access the recordings all you need to do is book into the class of your choice as normal.
When you register it ensures that we have your e-mail so that we can send you a link to the recording once the class has finished.

Recordings are automatically deleted 24 hours after the class has finished so please be sure to access them before this time.

We trialed recording the classes and found a way so that only the instructor is recorded during the actual class itself.

Your name is not shown but your camera / sound may be seen and heard at the beginning or end of the class before the actual session begins, you can ensure you are not recorded by turning off your camera and your sound (which happens by default when you join a session).

You can turn on your camera during the class so the instructor can see you but you will not be seen on the recording as you will automatically be muted, you can mute yourself if you wish to be sure. All of this means that only the instructor will be seen during the class on the recording.

I've booked, how do I join the Virtual Fitness Class?

Once your booking form has been completed it is sent to our technical team and they will send you an e-mail with the link to access the virtual fitness class.

The virtual fitness classes will open approximately 10 – 15 minutes before the class begins allowing you time to get in and prepared for when the class starts.
Your microphone camera are turned off by default when you join the session.

The link in the e-mail is your access to the fitness class, once clicked it should take you to the Zoom app and take you straight into the class. 

It is worth noting that when you first start a class, your camera and sound will be turned off. You will need to press “join audio” in the bottom left corner of the screen and then press “call over internet” to be able to hear the sound from the instructor.

Your joining link is unique to you so please do not share it with anyone else or you will not be able to join the session. Only one of your devices can join the session.

Piloxing

Piloxing is a mixture of boxing , Pilates & dance. Piloxing gets your heart rate up whilst using core muscles and balance in Pilate blocks along with dance to add that extra bit of fun followed by floor work on a mat to work legs, abs and glutes ending with a relaxing stretch at the end

Equipment (ideal but not required): A floor mat, weighted piloxing gloves

Zumba Step

Zumba Step combines the toning and strengthening power of step aerobic with the fun fitness routine that Zumba brings. We use a step to increase intensity but is not essential to participation. The class is split to include Zumba toning which adds resistance by using toning sticks (weights) to the workout which enhances the sense of rhythm while toning target muscle groups.

Equipment - you do not need a step to participate as all exercises can be done without. Alternatives are given so you can adapt. Do not create a step for yourself as this may not provide a stable base or be at correct height. Toning exercise routines again can be without toning sticks. If you have weights you should use nothing more than 2lbs or 1kg to prevent injury. You can use bottles of water as an alternative. All exercises can be without equipment but will be at a lower intensity.

Rhythm, music and fun is recipe to Zumba.

You do not require any equipment as this is a dance exercise class.
